Improving acceleration technique Part 2: March & Skip drills
Now that you’ve had time to work on your technique with your body weight supported by the wall, it’s now time to get off the wall and start challenging your technique.
This series of drills helps bring the wall to the actual part of sprinting by adding speed, rhythm, coordination and momentum. The same rules apply with posture, foot strike as well as trying to be crisp and smooth (not heavy footed). The number one mistake I see athletes make with these drills is that theyāre focused more on the action of bringing the leg up and then slowly dropping it. To improve all your March & skip drills you should focus on snapping the leg down with speed and snapping off the ground.
