Junior: BCFC names 2010 all star team & major award winners


The British Columbia Football Conference is pleased to announce their All-Stars and Major Award winners for the 2010 regular season.

The two-time defending champion Vancouver Island Raiders have eight players named as All-Stars to lead the BCFC. Five of the eight players are on the offensive side.

The first place Okanagan Sun were next with seven named to the All-Star team, two on offense, three on defence and two on special teams.

There are 28 players in total that have been named as BCFC All-Stars. 12 of those players were unanimous choices.

Sam Adu – Victoria Rebels* (second straight year) – 144 carries, 1,139 yards, 8 touchdowns, 7.3 yards a carry

Kyle Pich – Victoria Rebels – 24 catches, 528 yards and 5 touchdowns
Matt Scheurwater – Okanagan Sun* – 33 catches for 680 yards and 7 touchdowns
Michael Schaper –Vancouver Island Raiders* – 60 receptions, 1,179 yards (CJFL record) and 12 touchdowns
Andrew Smith – Vancouver Island Raiders – 48 catches, 696 yards and 8 touchdowns

Quarterback:
Jordan Yantz – Vancouver Island Raiders* – 182 completions (BCFC record), 2,913 yards, 33 touchdowns and a completion percentage of 64.1% (tied a BCFC record)

Ranji Mattu Memorial Coach of the Year – Pete McCall – Okanagan Sun – 9-1 in 2010 and led the Sun to the first, first place finish since 2005
