Junior Varsity tier one team ends season undefeated

The Junior Varsity tier one team delivered another crushing blow to their opponent. This time the victim was the Twin Cities Predators in the second half of the home and home games, with a 42-7 score.

The Predators challenged the Stampeders in the scoreless first quarter. The Stamps broke out in the second with four majors, the last one on an interception by Bryce James with only 18 seconds left until half time. Jack Woolfrey scored two majors, Adam Dunnik caught one in the end zone, Leigh Szela and Blake Culver scrambled in for the other two. Andrew Zeibart was perfect on the six point-after kicks. Woolfrey rushed for 162 yards, Szela 88 and Greg Coffin 58. The passing game was strong with five completions for 92 yards to Bennett Megarry.

The Predators score in the second would be their last. The Stampeders added one in each of the third and fourth quarters.

Addison Olah anchored the impressive defence with seven tackles, Zeibart, James and Jesse Myers had five each in addition to Zeibart’s fumble recovery. Jacob Camagnaro had a sack and another fumble recovery.

The Junior Varsity squad finishes their regular season 8-0 and well ahead of the second place Hamilton Wentworth Panthers who are 5-2-1.
