Could the OFSAA Championship Bowls be dead for this fall?

News broke last week that Rogers Communications did not renew the deal to sponsor the event.Β  Since 2008, the Rogers Centre has hosted five Bowl games – Β Golden Horseshoe, Metro,, National Capital , Western, and Northern. Β These Bowl championship games were played throughout one entire day during the last week of November. Traditionally, many football players, coaches and fans have marked this event on their calendars with great anticipation and excitement for the past few years.

Initially, Rogers had a deal to sponsor the OFSAA Bowl Games until 2017. This deal was in combination with when the Buffalo Bills would visit Canada to play a neutral NFL game. Β  Β All that is known at this point is that is will no longer be at the Rogers Centre.

At this point, the OFSAA is looking at finding an alternative venue to host the event and the league has confirmed something will be finalized by the end of next week.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
