King City Lion OL now Guelph Gryphon

Gryphons bring in Ontario commit to their Class of 2017.

Thomas Williams, an offensive lineman from King City Secondary School, will be leaving the Greater Toronto Area after signing with the University of Guelph Gryphons.

Staying in southern Ontario was important for Williams, a King City, Ontario resident. “(The school) being fairly close to home was a big factor. I also felt very comfortable in the campus,” he said about his commitment.

“The coaches are all very nice and helpful. Coach MacDonald and Coach Nesbitt have both been keeping in constant contact throughout my decision-making process. I look forward to the chance to work under them,” he added.

The 6’5, 279lbs lineman has played for the Newmarket Bucs (OVFL), the current York Region Lions, between 2011 and 2014. He also spent five years playing with the King City Secondary Lions (York Region Athletic Association). Williams, who is interested in studying history, was named to the 2017 York Region all-star team.
