Kingston’s O’Connor finds comfort in new gridiron home

Kingston, Ontario native Mitch O’Connor began playing football in grade 10.  He has no intentions of slowing down as he enters university in the fall.

6’1, 180 lbs.

Frontenac Falcons (high school)
Kingston Grenadiers (varsity:  OVFL)

After starting his football career on the defensive side of the ball playing safety, it did not take Mitch long to find his natural position at receiver. In his first year of senior football at Frontenac Secondary School, Mitch made the switch to receiver and was rewarded for his play, winning the Rookie of the Year Award. Mitch followed up his rookie campaign with another solid year of sports where he was awarded with the Athlete of the Year.

Mitch has a lot of memories in his young football career, but none were more memorable to him than helping his Frontenac Falcons capture back to back OFSAA championships.

Mitch now plans to take that success he tasted to the next level as he prepares to join the McMaster Marauders this upcoming fall. Mitch had a number of reasons for choosing McMaster,

“It’s a great school with an outstanding football program,” says Mitch.  “I get along with the coaches and players very well.”

“Overall it just feels like the place for me.”

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
