Georgetown linebacker newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2014 class.
One Ontario standout liked the positive impact Michael Faulds had as Head Coach his rookie season with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks.
As a result, Brendan Kutlesa will begin his career in Waterloo.Ā Recently, the 6ā1, 215 pound linebacker from Georgetown, Ontario committed to the Golden Hawks for the 2014 OUA season.
āI committed to Wilfrid Laurier because I really like the program and where they are going with it,ā explained Kutlesa of his decision.Ā āBringing in the new coach Michael Faulds, I really like what he is doing with the team and I chose to go there because they are a young team on the rise and Iām excited to be a part of that.ā
āItās a great school for academics.ā
Kutlesa joins the Golden Hawks after completing his high school career with Christ the King Jaguars of the Halton Secondary School Athletic Association (HSSAA).Ā During his time with the team, the Ontario linebacker was named the teamās Defensive MVP three times.
Additionally, Kutlesa suited up for North Halton Crimson Tide of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).Ā In July 2012, the defensive standout represented his home province as a member of Team Ontario West at the Football Canada Cup in London, Ontario.
The Golden Hawks have great expectations for Kutlesa in years to come.

āHe will have an impact for the 2014 Hawks at linebacker and on special teams.ā
Echoing the sentiments of Faulds is Recruiting and Special Teams Coordinator as well as Defensive Backs Coach Dwayne Cameron.
āBrendan is physical, possesses excellent speed and plays with a very high motor,ā adds Cameron.
