Lancers dominated by Marauders in Hamilton (stats & video)


The Lancer Football team was defeated 39-3 on Saturday by the McMaster Marauders on the road in Hamilton.

With the loss, the Lancers fall to 1-4 on the season.

On Saturday, the Marauders got off to a fast start as quarterback Kyle Quinlan passed and ran for a pair of touchdowns to put the home team up 14-0 after one quarter of play.

The second quarter was more of the same as McMaster added another touchdown before the Lancer kicker Robert Eeuwes nailed a field goal to put the score 21-3 heading into the break.

In the second half, Quinlan completed his third touchdown pass on the day and another rushing touchdown to build their lead to 36-3 after three quarters of play. The Marauders would add a field goal in the fourth to finish the game 39-3.

The Lancers had no answers for the Marauder offence who amassed 529 yards in total offensive yards.

For McMaster, Kyle Quinlan completed 12 of 18 passes for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns to give to the Marauders (3-2) over the .500 mark for the season.

For Windsor, Sam Malian finished 8 of 20 passing for 125 yards. Running back Paul Lefaive carried the ball 9 times for 59 yards.

Windsor has a bye next Saturday, before returning home for Windsor Minor Football Day on October 9th against the York Lions. Kick-off is set for 1pm. All minor football players wearing their team’s jersey will get into the game for free.
