Lancers land Barrie recruit

Barrie defensive lineman joins OUA team’s 2015 class.

Windsor Lancers have announced the addition of Fraser Olson to their football program.

The 6’4,230 pound defensive lineman from Barrie, Ontario will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

β€œWe are very excited to have Fraser join our program, he’s coming in at a need position for us, we really like his frame and athletic ability for his size (6’4 230),” commented Lancers Defensive Coordinator Donnavan Carter.Β  β€œWe believe once we get him here and get him on our strength and conditioning program, he will add some size and strength to his frame and emerge as an impact player up front defending the run and getting after the passer.”

Olson completed his high school career with Eastview Wildcats of the Georgian Bay Secondary School Athletic Association (GBSSAA). Additionally, he suited up for Huronia Stallions of the Ontaro Football Conference (OFC).Β  Last season with the Stallions, he registered eight tackles.

For his part, the combination of academics and the strength of the football program were the main reasons the Ontario defensive standout chose the Lancers.

β€œI chose to commit to Windsor, because I liked the campus and the athletic facility,” commented Olson on his commitment.Β  β€œIn addition I committed as they have made the playoffs the past four seasons, and I liked they opportunity the Lancers program can give me.”
