Lancers name six recruits, including five locals

The Windsor Lancer began its 2020 recruiting process by announcing four local commits plus a fifth from London, Ont.

Luke Hessel (6’0, 285 lbs) — Offensive Lineman from Catholic Central (London, ON)

Hessel is the first out-of-town commitment for the Lancers in 2020. The London, Ont., native is a force on the offensive line with a 6’0 and 285-pound frame to back it up. He’s a talented player that could be a prominent component of Windsor’s O-line moving forward.

Vyshonne Janusas (6’0, 195 lbs) — Receiver from W.F. Herman Academy (Windsor, ON)

Windsor has landed a speedy receiver in Vyshonne, who stars for the local powerhouse W.F. Herman Green Griffins in the WECSSAA Tier 1 East. The stocky player is a valuable addition to the Lancers’ talent pool and has the potential to make an impact on offence.

Nick Brajkovic (6’2, 230 lbs) — Halfback from Holy Names High School (Windsor, ON)

The hulking halfback is one of three local Lancer recruits hailing from Holy Names High School. Brajkovic has the potential to become a key fixture in Windsor’s backfield beyond 2020 with a favourable 6’2 and 230-pound frame at his disposal.

Devin Veresuk (6’2, 235 lbs) — Linebacker from Holy Names High School (Windsor, ON)

Veresuk is one of two linebackers from Holy Names to announce their commitment to their hometown Lancers. The 6’2 and 235-pound specimen is built to dominate offences around the OUA in 2020 and beyond.

Kaiden Burdick (6’0, 190 lbs) — Linebacker from Holy Names High School (Windsor, ON)

Another linebacker out of Holy Names, Burdick is a dependable force on defence and may feature well on Windsor’s defence. The Windsor, Ont., native will thrive with teammates surrounding him in this next endeavour.

Emmitt Rosati (6’0, 195 lbs) — Quarterback from General Amherst High (Amherstburg, ON)

Rosati is a quarterback from nearby Amherstburg, Ont., with an accurate arm in his weapons arsenal. The product from General Amherst High will be a welcomed addition to the Lancers’ depth at the position.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
