Lancers showed they’d ‘take care of me,’ says commit

Lancers bring in a local commit as their first in the Class of 2018.

Craig Barr, a left tackle form Belle River High School, has felt nothing but flattered by the effort his new team, the Windsor Lancers, have put into recruiting him.

“The school invited me to a lot of events to show me that they wanted me and that they were going to take care of me,” Barr said. Hailing from Belle River, Ontario, he added that the school is very close, so he doesn’t have to move.

Standing at a towering 6’7, 255lbs, Barr said that while the Lancers coaches are “very strict,” they also “create very useful and memorable bonds that appeal to most players.”

Interested in business and accounting, Barr was also impressed that the school “excels in the field I wish to pursue.”

The four-year veteran has played with the Belle River Nobles (Winsor-Essex County Secondary School Athletic Association) and the Essex Ravens (OFA). In 2016, he was a WECCSSA junior football silver medalist. Throughout high school, he said that he kept up in his studies to maintain a high average.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
