LB captain fell in love with Gaiter’s family

Bishop’s welcomes out-of-province commit to their Class of 2017.

When Liam Patton, a linebacker from Bill Crothers Secondary School, saw Bishopā€™s University, there was one particular thing that won him over.

ā€œI committed because I loved the family atmosphere as well as the small class sizes,ā€ he said. ā€œBut, more importantly, (it was) the opportunity to study at the Williams School of Business.ā€

Standing at 6ā€™4, 205lbs and hailing from Richmond Hill, Ontario, in the GTA, Patton was entranced with the Gaitersā€™ coaches. ā€œThe coaching staff is new, exiting and bringing a wining culture to the school,ā€ he said.

In his career, he has lined up with the Markham Raiders (OVFL), the 7v7 Kingdom Force football academy and the Bill Crothers Colts (York Region Athletics Association). He is a GTA all-star, a defensive MVP and a team MVP. In the end, for Patton, the most important is that: ā€œI pride myself on being a team captain both years (playing).ā€

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
