Courting persistence

David Levesque

CEGEP offensive lineman bows to attention and joins RSEQ team’s 2014 class.

Persistent courting of a recruit has paid off for one RSEQ school.

David Levesque recently committed to the Concordia Stingers for the 2014 season.ย  The 6โ€™3, 280 pound offensive lineman from Montreal, Quebec was impressed with the strength of the academic and football programs at the campus.

โ€œThe Stingers are the ones who approached me most,โ€ commented Levesque.ย  โ€œThere were academic factors.โ€

โ€œStudying at Concordia gives me a chance to improve my English and English is important to get a job.โ€

Getting the chance to work with Offensive Line Coach Bryan Chiu also played a prominent role in his decision to commit to the Stingers.

โ€œThere is also the fact that it is Bryan Chui who coaches the offensive line,โ€ added the Quebec offensive lineman.ย  โ€œI am sure, he will have excellent advice for me to get better and help me become a better player.โ€

Recently, Levesque completed his CEGEP career with Division 2 team, Lionel-Groulx Nordiques.

โ€œIt was a fabulous experience,โ€ expressed Levesque, who captained the Nordiques for the team foe two seasons.ย  โ€œThese guys are like a family for me and I’m very proud of the Nordiques. Nordiques coaches have given me a lot.โ€
