At the heart of any good defense, is either an outstanding linebacker or an outstanding group of linebackers. Great linebackers can do all three things; stop the run, be a factor in coverages, and be an effective blitzer/pass rusher. If you find a linebacker who can do all three of these things, you need to plug him in and make him one of your building blocks on defense.
