The first place Cambridge peewee Varsity Lions were too much for the Essex Ravens to handle as they came away with a 50-15 Victory on Saturday.
The defence was led by Zack Sauer. On the first play of the day, Sauer recovered a fumble after a Drew Walden tackle, returning the ball twenty-five yards for the Lions opening touchdown. Sauer added two sacks, three extra points and nine kick-offs averaging 47 yards each.
Offensively the Lions, led by Austin Welch and Carlton Smith, ran for three-hundred and fifteen yards. Austin Gordonās passing game was also strong, connecting with Brad Vince on a long touchdown pass.
