Lions peewee cap off perfect 11-0 OMFL season

The Cambridge peewee Lions accomplished what the 2007 New England Patriots couldn’t – a perfect season.

The Lions capped off their 11-0 Year with a 48-29 win over the Mississauga Warriors in the OMFL championship game Sunday at Centennial Stadium in Etobicoke.
The Lions stated strong with a 49 yard run by Danyel Sipes, moving the ball to the goal-line. Sipes then finished off the drive with the touchdown.
The quarter finished with another touchdown by Derek Cole after an Ethan Elka fumble recovery.
Lions quarterback Brayden Hill connected with Sipes for a touchdown after big runs from Sipes and Kaden Jespersen.
Ryley Dunn recovered the on-side kick in the fourth, which led to a touchdown by Jespersen.
The Lions continued to roll in the fourth, with another touchdowns by Sipe. With less than a minute to go, Hill hit George Monoghan for a long pass, putting the Lions in scoring position. The Lions then put the icing on the game, and their season, with a touchdown.
The defence played big all game with Mitch Weiler, having an interception in the third.
The Lions dominated their opponents all season, outscoring their opposition
489-96, keeping their points against to a remarkable 8.7 per game. Lion’s players have no time to rest on their laurels, however, as Wolverine fall football has already begun and teams begin playing games at the end of August.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
