Local #CFC100 recruit envisions great opportunity at home

Saskatoon defensive tackle joins CWUAA team’s 2016 class.

Nathan Cherry will be playing in front of the hometown crowd at the CIS level in future years.

Recently, the 6’3, 250 pound defensive tackle from Saskatoon committed to the University of Saskatchewan Huskies.  Cherry will join the team for the 2016 CWUAA season.

With his commitment, he is one of three #CFC100 recruits the Huskies have signed.  The others are defensive end/linebacker Nicholas Dheilly and quarterback Mason Nyhus.

“I signed with the Huskies because I felt like they gave me the best opportunity to improve and because it’s in my hometown of Saskatoon,” commented Cherry of his decision.

This past season, the defensive tackle recorded 13 sacks playing with the Aden Bowman Bears of the Saskatoon Secondary School Athletic Directorate (SSSAD). Later this month, the #CFC100 recruit will be suiting up for Team Canada in Texas as part of the International Bowl.
