Vancouver receiver joins CWUAA team’s 2015 class.

Matthew Legge will be playing in front of the hometown crowd on the CIS stage.

Recently, the 6ā€™2, 190 pound receiver from Vancouver committed to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Thunderbirds. Legge will join the team for the 2015 CWUAA season.

Ultimately, the local standout could not envision embarking on his CIS career anywhere else.Ā  Moreover, he is excited to be part of the Thunderbirds rebuild.

ā€œI committed to UBC because when I went for the tour I got a very good feel for the place from Coach [Paul] Orazetti and I saw myself fitting in nicely,ā€ recalled Legge.Ā  ā€œI’m very excited to be a part of the resurgence of UBC football with Coach [Blake] Nill and I feel that it was the best place for me.ā€

ā€œThe campus is beautiful and I love the idea of being close to home. It’s one of the top academic schools in Canada. I look forward to playing receiver for UBC in the CIS.ā€

For the past five seasons, Legge played for the Vancouver College Fighting Irish of the British Columbia High School Football Association (BCHSFA).

ā€œI am very thankful and appreciative to all the coaches, in particular Coach Todd Bernett as I learned much about the game from him,ā€ expressed the receiver.
