Toronto defensive back signs with OUA team.

For Tyler Satino, there were too many reasons why his future CIS home was the perfect fit for him.

The recruitment process between the defensive back and Blues started early.

β€œI began speaking to the University of Toronto last year during my grade 11 season,” recalled Satino.Β  β€œUniversity of Toronto is a very prestigious school to attend as it is one of the best academic schools in Canada; it is also very close to home which is a plus.”

β€œThe Varsity Blues have a great history of football and have the accolades that followed. Upon coming in touch with the University, I was treated amazingly.Β  Coach [Greg] Gary, [Kevin] Eiben, and [Ken] Mazurek knew exactly what I was looking for in terms of my goals and aspirations. They were very supportive. Coach [Kevin] Eiben is a very successful individual in the football business and being a player in his defense is what really grasped my attention. The Varsity Blues Football program is greatly overlooked when it comes to the OUA competing brackets. As an underdog, I too know how it feels to work hard in order to strive for greatness. As a Varsity Blue, along with my fellow teammates, I believe University of Toronto can restore to its past glory and be able to compete for the Yates once again. I am ready to be a member of the prestigious Varsity Blues football team.”
