Local recruit opts for McMaster (VIDEO)

Hamilton defensive tackle joins OUA team’s 2016 class.

Wyatt Croucher will be playing at the CIS level in front of the hometown crowd.

Recently, the 6’2, 265 pound defensive tackle from Hamilton, Ontario committed to the McMaster Marauders.  Croucher will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.

Overall, three significant factors came into play when it came time to make his selection.  There was no doubt the Marauders fit the bill.

Wyatt Croucher 2 commitment

“These three are the coaching, the academics and the family atmosphere that the team presents,” explained Croucher.  “The coaches have all been so welcoming and interested in me as not only a football player but also a student.”

“Being able to play for an amazing group of coaches all around is going to be great. Also, to get to play football and study at one of the top universities across the country with some of the best academics is something that all of us commits need to value, and it’s great that McMaster has the program that I want to study. Finally, being around the group of players on the team, as well as listening to the coaches and their styles of coaching first hand has made me realize that this isn’t just another football team, but it is a family, and a family that I’m excited to join and be a part of.”

Currently, the defensive standout is completing his final season with Westmount Wildcats of the Hamilton Wentworth Intercollegiate Athletic Association (HWIAA).  Additionally, Croucher has suited up for the Hamilton Hurricanes of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC).
