London Beefeaters add head coach, GM, Offensive Coordinator

The London Beefeaters Football Club is pleased to announce today that John Vouvalidis has accepted the position of Head Coach of the London Beefeaters and will lead the team into the 2012 season. John, a London native, brings a long and distinguished career in education and football to the team. John is presently employed by the Thames Valley District School Board and is the Head Coach of the London Central Golden Ghosts. John has previously coached at the junior level as an assistant to Mike Circelli from 2001-2003.

Among the new coaching personnel joining John’s staff this year are Ryan Clutterbuck and Chris Patten. Ryan will be the offensive coordinator while Chris will do the same work as he does with the Western Mustangsβ€”Video Coordinator and Receiver Coach. Additional staff will be announced in the coming weeks and it is expected that several from last year’s coaching ranks will be involved again this year.

Additionally, the team is pleased to announce that Mike Circelli has assumed the role of General Manager of the London Beefeaters. Mike will continue in his coaching role at Western as well as managing the Beefeaters’ fortunes. Again, Mike is a well-known and well-respected football person in not only the London area but also across Ontario. Mike was one of the most successful coaches in the province while at London Catholic Central High School, winning numerous city and provincial championships. Mike played for the Beefs in 1975-1976 and, as mentioned above, was the Beefeater Head Coach from 2001-2003.

George Thomson, President and the rest of the Board of Directors of the London Beefeaters will remain in their current positions and the team expects to add to the executive group in the near future.

Over the next several months the Beefeaters will be cementing closer relations with the Western Mustang football team. In addition we will be continuing our relationships with the London Junior Mustangs and Forest City Thunderbirds organizations as well as the London area high school programs. The team is also working with various departments within Fanshawe College and will be maintaining our very close relationship with Darrel Elver and the Wise Athletic Development Academy (WADA), our workout home for the past two years.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
