London recruit ‘can’t wait’ to get working with Golden Hawks

London defensive back recently signs with OUA team.

Recently, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks announced that Scott Hutter has committed to their football program.

Hutter, the 6’0, 180 pound defensive back from London, Ontario will join the Golden Hawks for the 2015 OUA season.

The defensive standout comes to the Golden Hawks after capping off a successful career with AB Lucas Vikings of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA).  Hutter was the co-recipient of the Gooder Award for Most Outstanding Player in London after guiding the Vikings to an OFSAA Bowl victory this past November.

“Scott Hutter is as tough of a football player as you’ll see in this year’s recruiting class,” commented Golden Hawks Head Coach Michael Faulds.  “He played both sides of the ball for Lucas and was outstanding at both.”

“He shared the London High School football player of the year award.  Scott has decided to come play defensive back for us and we look for him to come in and compete right away. He will also be on every special team and help us greatly in that area.”

For his part, the defensive back felt the Waterloo, Ontario campus possessed the right tools for him to succeed on the field and in the classroom.

“It’s a great school with an amazing environment,” explained Hutter of his decision.  “Laurier is definitely a great opportunity for me moving forward both as a student and an athlete.”

“They have a really good program in place and I can’t wait to get to work as a Golden Hawk.”
