London wide receiver newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

Over the weekend, the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks announced the signing of Jeremy Hodgins to their football program.

The 6’1, 230 pound wide receiver from London, Ontario will join the Golden Hawks for the 2015 OUA season.

“Jeremy is an all-round outstanding football player,” commented Golden Hawks Head Coach Michael Faulds.  “For London Central, he played all three phases: offense, defense and special teams and was a big time factor in all areas.”

“His ability to catch the football and willingness to block will be a huge asset to our offense.”

Jeremy Hodgins commitment 1

Hodgins has played for the London Central Golden Ghosts of the Thames Valley Region Athletic Association (TVRAA).

For the offensive standout, the combination of academics and football made the Waterloo, Ontario campus the perfect fit for him.

“The main factors on why I decided to commit to Laurier were schooling wise,” explained Hodgins of his decision.  “I’m interested in kinesiology and Laurier has an outstanding kin program, it’s a wonderful school and I really respect how the program has managed to come back and excel.”

“Coach Faulds has been known to be an extremely smart and reputable coach and I’m excited to learn from him and I think he can really develop me as a player. I’m from London Ontario so another factor was that Laurier is close to home and a lot of my good friends are going there as well.”
