Mark will be continuing his football career in the fall when he calls Hamilton and McMaster University home as he embarks on the next chapter in his life.

“McMaster was a great fit for me academically as it has a great kinesiology program,”  says Mark.

One of the few reasons why Mackie chose McMaster as his next football destination  is the great location since it not too far from his hometown of London, Ontario.

“McMaster has a strong football program, and to be given the chance to contribute to that is exciting,” Mark adds.

Mackie is fresh off an MVP season for the Saunders Sabres, as well as the recipient of the Dr. Jim Allen Award in 2012 which is awarded to London’s Top High School Lineman. While these are some of the outstanding accomplishments Mackie was able to achieve, winning the OVFL Provincial Championship last summer with the London Jr. Mustangs is his most memorable football experience.

“Over the course of the season we went 11-0 and ended up winning the championship,” says Mark.

This has been quite the year for Mark.  He is ready and hungry for more as he brings his talents to McMaster as one of the many new recruits for the Marauders football program.

“It was a fantastic feeling and I look forward to chasing more championships at the next level,” says Mark.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
