Led by the tandem of CJ Stephens (photo) and Andrew Smith, the Gators have reached the Tier I championship for a seventh consecutive season defeating Pickering 32-6.Ā  For the third straight year and fourth time in five years, their opponent will be Holy Trinity.Ā  Wilson holds a two to one advantage in the three previous championship meetings.

During week two, the Titans surrendered a sixteen point lead in the final three minutes to fall to the Saints 35-30.Ā  Playing the Saints for the third time this season, the Titans turned the tables scoring twenty unanswered points in the final three quarters to prevail by one point and advance to the Tier I finals this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.

In a defensive struggle, the Celtics on a failed third and touchdown attempt received a reprieve when a Ram defender was called for pass interference.Ā  With the ball placed on the one yard line,Ā Sanjay Francis would carry the ball over the goal line as the Celtics overcame a 3-0 deficit.Ā  The win advances the Celtics to the championship final.

The remarkable turnaround season for the Monarchs continued as they shut down the potent O’Neill offense, allowing only a rouge by Brandon Costello on a kick off.Ā  The win advances St. Mary to the league championship Thursday night at Oshawa Civic (7:00 p.m.) against Sinclair.Ā  St. Mary scoring details were unavailable at press time.

Tyler DeCarios posted thirteen scoring points with three field goals and four point-afters on touchdowns by Raishaun Provo, Damien Lombardi, Carmen Scala and Matt Boujos.Ā  With the shutout, St. Marys fourth in five games, the Monarchs advance to the Varsity/Tier II semi-finals.

The Sinclair Celtics booked a semi-final date with Ajax as they turned back an injury depleted lineup from Notre Dame.Ā  Tre Ducasse, Paul Watkins and Garrett Arsenault each reached the house once while Jordan Kotyluk added a two point convert and Dylan Lee kicked a convert.Ā  The Celtics advance to play Ajax in semi-final action.

O’Neill 53, Uxbridge 14
Trey Campbell and Dylan Hall combined for five O’Neill touchdowns at the Red Hawks eliminated the Tigers from post season play.Ā  Patrick Kepa and Matt Cox each posted one touchdown while Brendan Costello added eleven kicking points.Ā  Callen Hageman and Matt Edwards, each with one touchdown, replied for Uxbridge.

Trailing 14-13, a turnover on downs late in the fourth quarter gave the Rams one last chance.Ā  They responded with two pass completions, the second of which saw the ball placed on the one yard line due to a penalty following the play.Ā  Tommy Kemp’s one yard plunge gave Ajax their first lead of the game with only 29 seconds remaining.

Trailing by twenty-one with just over three minutes remaining, a furious fourth quarter comeback by the three time defending champions fell just short when Josh Ritchie intercepted a Gator pass deep in Titans territory in the final minute. Six turnovers (four interceptions, two fumbles) by Wilson played a prominent role in the outcome.

The Rams have advanced to the Tier II Junior championship on Thursday, November 8th (5:00 p.m. kickoff).Ā  Their opponents will be fellow Ajax based school J. Clarke Richardson. Three players had two touchdown games: Zach White and Trey Humes for Ajax and Aaron Young for Eastdale.Ā  Rams Tristen Wilson added four converts.

The pounding running style of George Goudogianis proved to be too much for the Royals to handle as the second seeded Richardson Storm qualified for the Tier II championship.Ā  Goudogianis tallied three touchdowns. Quarterback J’van Manhertz and Tevin Lawrence each had one while Tyler Knights-Rocheleau kicked two converts.

Tyler McNicholl converted both Royals touchdowns, one by himself and one by Evan Reece, which gave the Royals a slim one point margin of victory over the Tigers.Ā  Erich Milne, who was held off the scoresheet for the first three games of the season, scored both Uxbridge touchdowns to finishĀ the year with eleven majors.Ā

Eastdale 34, O’Neill 20
For the second time in a week, the Eagles defeated the Red Hawks.Ā  This win secured Eastdale a berth in the semi-finals against the top seeded Ajax.Ā  Eastdale touchdowns were scored by Aaron Young with four, which boosted his seasons total to fifteen, and Anthony Barbetta. Isaiah Mottley led the Red Hawks with two majors.
