Two headed to the steel city

McMaster adds an Ontario commit and an international commit to their 2018 class.

Daniel Stefanyk, a defensive lineman from Huron Heights Secondary School, and Ben Chombe, a defensive back from Episcopal High School will be looking to expand their academic and athletic horizons in the steel city with the McMaster Marauders.

Daniel Stefanyk has been grinding it out with the Huron Heights Warriors (YRAA) for five years, and now his hard work has been rewarded with an offer from the Marauders. What caught his eye the most was the school’s kinesiology program, as well as the team’s training regimen.

He added that, “From what I noticed, their coaching staff is very straight forward, no games, which I believe is very important to have within a team.”

In his career, the 6’3, 215lbs defensive end and linebacker has won four YRAA championships in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017. He has also helped his team win two Simcoe Bowls at the 2015 and 2017 OFSAA championships.

“My parents have been my biggest supporters through this entire process. I’d like to thank them and all the coaches who have helped me get this far,” the product of Keswick, Ontario, said. “Trust the process.”

Ben Chombe

Ben Chombe will be heading north of the border from his hometown of Alexandria, Virginia. Standing at 6’0, 180lbs, Chombe has suited up primarily as a cornerback. In high school, he played with the Episcopal Maroon.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
