Manitoba recruit signs with Mounties (VIDEO)

Winnipeg linebacker joins AUS team’s 2016 class.

Josh Bevan will be moving out east to begin his CIS career.

On Monday, the 6’2, 230 pound linebacker from Winnipeg, Manitoba signed with the Mount Allison Mounties.  Bevan will join the team for the 2016 AUS season.

Overall, there were multiple factors that played into his decision to opt for the Sackville, New Brunswick team.

“First off my coach, one of my biggest role models played for the school,” explained Bevan.  “The class sizes really appealed to me as I believe you learn way better in that environment.”

“You can’t forget that Mount A was named top undergraduate university in all of Canada. Also the team is always dominating the AUS and who doesn’t love being on a winning team, can’t wait to contribute to such a great organization!”

This past fall, Bevan completed a stint with River East Kodiaks of the Winnipeg High School Football League (WHSFL).  In 2015, he registered 55 tackles, two forced fumbles and an interception.
