Marauders land “electric” local recruit

Since the first moment JD Foxcroft stepped foot onto McMaster University, he was hooked on the Hamilton, Ontario campus.

Yesterday, the 5’10, 170 pound wide receiver/slotback from Burlington, Ontario committed to the Mauraders football program.  Foxcroft will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

“I committed to McMaster because of the opportunity the Business School provides and the outstanding football program led by Head Coach Stefan Ptaszek,” expressed Foxcroft of his decision.  “My grandfather, Ron Foxcroft is a proud supporter of the university.”

“It will be an honor to play in front of my family and friends in my home city. Since my first visit, the coaches make me feel like I am meant to be here.”

Currently, the offensive standout is attending Hillfield Strathallen College in Hamilton, Ontario.

This past summer, Foxcroft helped the Burlington Stampeders win the varsity Ontario Football Conference (OFC) Championship.  In both 2014 and 2015, the wide receiver participated in the Ontario Prospect Challenge (OPC).

“I am known for quick feet and soft hands,” added Foxcroft of his playmaking abilities. “I am described as an electric playmaker that can take it to the house.”

Not only had Foxcroft developed as top player on the gridiron, but he has also excelled on the ski slopes and basketball court.  In 2015, he won a gold medal in giant slalom at the OFSAA Alpine Ski Racing Event.
