Marauders stock up on defensive commits, add 2

Marauders add two southern Ontario commits to their 2019 class.

CFC100 Zack Ihasz, a linebacker from CFC50 Nelson High School, and Isaiah Mackey, a defensive back from Lakeshore Catholic High School, will be looking to make the McMaster Marauders’ defense that much stronger.

CFC100 Zach Ihasz

Home will always be a short drive away for CFC100 Zach Ihasz, who is from Burlington, Ontario. The future Marauder currently plays football with the Nelson Lords (HSSAA). Ihasz has been described as one of the top linebacker prospects in Ontario. He has been involved in the sport since the age of seven.

The 6ā€™2, 210lbs linebacker and running back helped the 2016 Lords win the Golden Horseshoe Bowl. He also played with the Burlington Stampeders (OPFL). In 2017, Ihasz had 37 tackles and 9 assisted tackles in eight games. He also accumulated four sacks, five tackles for losses, and caused two fumbles and one interception. He also blocked one kick and defended against three passes.

Since grade ten, Ihasz has had a lot of interest from OUA schools. However, in the end, it was the Marauders that won his heart.

Isaiah Mackey

Isaiah Mackey resides in Fort Erie, Ontario, in the Niagara Falls Region. He is a member of the Lakeshore Catholic Gators (NRHSAA) and also played with the Niagara Spears (OPFL). In the 2018 OPFL season, Mackey had eight tackles, seven assisted tackles, two sacks and two passes defended in six games.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
