The Maritime Football League is 10 years old and its going to celebrate in a big way.
The league kicks off its regular season June 5 by stagging three games at Moncton’s Rocky Stone Memorial Field. The kickoff celebrations will also include live music, a barbecue and beer garden. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The three games on one site in Week 1 replaces the annual pre-season jamboree that was held for several seasons.
The June 5 schedule sees the three-time defending champion Riverview Mustangs play the Dartmouth Knights at 1 p.m., P.E.I. Privateers take on the Fredericton Gladiators at 4 p.m. and Saint John Wanderers battle the Halifax Shockers at 8 p.m.
AC/DC cover band Loaded Dice will perform at 7 p.m., prior to the final game. The event will also feature prizes and giveaways, including three separate opportunities for fans to win major prizes, including a truck courtesy of Taylor Ford in Moncton.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Advanced Health & Physiotherapy, Mountain Road, Moncton, Midas Auto Service, Mountain Road, Moncton, Damascus Coffee, Coverdale Road, Riverview, and Norm’s Pizza, Paul Street, Dieppe.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
