Right situation

RSEQ team lands fourth CFC TOP 100 player in their 2014 class.

The situation was just right for a CEGEP running back.

Recently, CFC TOP 100 Felix Marquis-Chevrier decided that the Sherbrooke Vert et Or is exactly where he wants to continue his pursuing his academic and gridiron pursuits. The 5’11, 196 pound offensive standout from Terrebonne, Quebec has committed to the school for the 2014 RSEQ season.

β€œThe reason of my commitment with Sherbrooke is academic,” explained Marquis-Chevrier of his decision. β€œI wanted to go in “enseignement de l’Γ©ducation PhysiquΓͺ” program over there.”

β€œIn addition, I really loved the way the coaching staff is treating the players and I had a really good feeling about Sherbrooke, from the first time I visited the campus. I truly believe that I will have a good impact on this team. Mathieu Pronovost (Vert et Or Assistant to Offensive Coordinator and offensive line coach) showed me that Sherbrooke is a team that truly cares about their athletes. Β It was the perfect fit for me – good team, great coaches, good players and a very good football program.”

Marquis-Chevrier joins the Vert et Or after completing his CEGEP career with Division 2 team, Andre-Grasset Phenix.Β  In the 2013 regular season, the running back amassed 1077 rushing yards and scored nine touchdowns (played seven of nine games, was injured during season).Β  In the playoffs, he racked up 537 rushing yards and scored four touchdowns.

The Quebec running back is the fourth CFC TOP 100 player to commit to the Vert et Or as he joins offensive lineman Marc-Olivier Perreault, running back Guillaume Labbe and defensive end Remy Deschamps in the RSEQ team’s 2014 class.
