McGill Redmen set to host Sherbrooke in Friday night football in Montreal (video)


The McGill Redmen kick-off their home season on Friday hosting the Sherbrooke Vert et or at 7 p.m. The Vert et or are coming off a 25 to 23 victory over the Bishop’s Gaiters. The Redmen are coming off a 24 to 13 defeat at the hands of the Montreal Carabins.

Both squads will start freshmen quarterbacks. The Vert et or start Jeremi Doyon-Roch who finished his first career start with 16 completions on 36 attempts for 214 yards with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions and 2 carries for 8 yards.

The Redmen counter with Dallon Kuprowski who finished his first game with 21 completions on 36 attempts with 2 interceptions and 91 rushing yards on 11 carries and 1 rushing touchdown.

Both Doyon-Roch (Team Quebec 2008) and Kuprowski (Team Ontario East 2009) led their provinces to gold medal national championships at the Under 17 Football Canada Cup.
