Ben Cross has found his future CIS home.
Recently, the 5β11, 170 pound defensive back (cornerback) from Morriston, Ontario committed to the McMaster Marauders.Β Cross will join the team for the 2016 OUA season.
Ultimately, Crossβ decision was based on his comfort level as well as the strengths of both the academic and gridiron programs.
βI committed to McMaster because they have a great business program and it really felt like home to me,β elaborated the defensive back.Β βThe football program obviously has been very successful in recent years so that was also a deciding factor and the coaches seem very genuine.β
In three games during his high school season with Guelph District 10βs Centennial Spartans, Cross has caught an interception and racked up five touchdowns.Β Not only has he been a defensive back, but he has also been playing as a receiver and holds a prominent role on special teams as a return specialist.
Moreover, Cross has previously suited up for the Guelph Jr Gryphons of the Ontario Football Conference (OFC), Cambridge Lions of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL) as well as represented his province as a member of Team Ontario at the 2014 Football Canada Cup in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
