HAMILTON – McMaster University football head coach Stefan Ptaszek is excited to welcome the first batch of committed recruits for the 2010 OUA season. On the heels of the team’s most successful season under Coach Ptaszek, the Marauder program is confident that this initial group of recruits will continue the trend of impact players coming to McMaster to play football, with more on the horizon.
“This group represents a lot of hard work but the results are very gratifying,” explains Coach Ptaszek. “We are bringing in an outstanding group of young men that should help us compete with the best teams in Canada.”
Among the players that have decided to don the Maroon and Grey is one of the most prolific pass and catch combinations in Ontario high school football, a terrific two-way threat from British Columbia, one of the premier kickers in the province, and several top calibre blockers along the offensive line.
Already one of the youngest teams in the OUA, it’s expected this latest infusion of more top talent will continue the McMaster push toward challenging for the Vanier Cup.
Training camp for the Marauders will open on Monday, August 23, 2010 and Ptaszek says he is looking forward to working with the new blood.
“We expect this group to have a long term and significant impact on our program and campus.” Ptaszek added. “We cannot wait to work with these young men and watch them develop over the next four to five years.”
