“NiCarlo is a very welcome addition to the Marauder Football Program,” commented Marauders Head Coach Stefan Ptaszek.  “We are very confident that he will be a positive representative of our program on the field, around campus, and in the community. “

“NiCarlo is such a unique combination of size, athletic ability, and high football IQ that his potential on the football field is unlimited.”

Funai is completing his final season with St. Peter’s Knights of the National Capital Secondary School Athletic Association (NCSSAA). During his time there, Funai has been named Lineman of the Year and Defensive MVP.

Last month, the Ottawa defensive end was included for the second straight time on the #CFC100 CLASS 2016 RANKINGS.

For his part, the #CFC100 opted for the Marauders because of comfort and familiarity.

“I chose McMaster because I loved the campus and I loved the way their team was run,” explained Funai.  “Also they run a similar defense to one I played a few years ago; I was very successful in it and so I hope that will help me when I get there.”
