McMaster sews up another local (VIDEO)

Hamilton linebacker joins OUA team’s 2015 class.

Andrew Pacheco is staying home to begin his CIS career.

Recently, the 6’1, 210 pound linebacker from Hamilton, Ontario signed with his home CIS team, McMaster Marauders.  Pacheco will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

“When it’s time for other players to commit, some guys say that “this place feels like home” or “this university felt like home”,” explained Pacheco.  “Well, to me this is home. I feel that I play my best at home where my family and friends are watching and supporting me.”

Furthermore, the defensive standout felt that the Hamilton, Ontario campus offered him the best chance to succeed on the field and in the classroom.

“McMaster provides such a great opportunity for me academically, as well as athletically,” expressed Pacheco.  “Being one of the top ranked universities in the country for academics and for football was a big factor in my decision.”

“The facilities and treatment McMaster provides to their football players are top notch. All of the coaches treated me like I was family and overall it felt like the right decision. I am looking forward to this upcoming off-season to prepare myself for the big change from high-school football to university football.”
