McMaster lassos Ilderton recruit (VIDEO)

Ilderton slotback newest recruit to join OUA team’s 2015 class.

John Wotherspoon has found his new home.

Recently, the 6’3, 195 pound slotback from Ilderton, Ontario committed to the McMaster Marauders.  Wotherspoon will join the team for the 2015 OUA season.

Comfort, proximity as well as the strength of the football program sold Wotherspoon on the Hamilton, Ontario school.

“The reason I decided upon Mac was it just had the right feel too it,” expressed the Ontario slotback of his decision.  “It’s a hard feeling to explain but I just felt more at home there.”

“I have family ties to Hamilton as my parents are both from there and some of my family attended McMaster as well.  It’s obviously a great program, their success this year and the past few seasons can speak for itself, but the coaches are also incredibly knowledgeable and know how to win.”

Wotherspoon has played for the Medway Cowboys of the Thames Valley Regional Athletic Association (TVRAA) as well as the London Jr. Mustangs of the Ontario Varsity Football League (OVFL). Not only is he a slotback, but he has tried the free safety position during his time with the Cowboys.
