Mayor Ford’s team, Don Bosco Eagles, and the Huron Heights Warriors are both looking for their first ever bowl championship. Huron Heights, ranked #21 by CFC, have been consistent all season and have fended off King City (2x) and Donald A. Wilson (defending champions) along the way. The Eagles have garnered no recognition by the CFC prognosticators but recently beat top 10 SAC to get to the finals.
Warrior co-head coach Heath Weir had this to say about the game. “Bosco is definitely the favourite. They have great athleticism and overall team speed. Heck, they knocked off SAC. A team that most prognosticators had picked as the top team in the Province. Were going to do our best and do what we do. Hopefully that will be enough.”
To be fair to the prognosticators, the Ontario independent league winner usually has some ‘transfer issues’ which does not allow them to field their regular starters. To be fair to Bosco, they probably deserve some more recognition.
