Mind of McCabe: A cautionary tale for scouts, coaches and players

There’s a lot of ways you can help a football team. You’ve gotta fill 24 different positions plus special teams on the depth chart, and each one requires a unique skill set in order to excel at the highest levels. You’ve got all the prototypes like scatback, red-zone threat, pocket passer, lockdown corner, pass rush specialist, special teams ace – the list goes on.

It’s really nice when a player fits into one of those categories, but the world doesn’t always work that way, and sometimes we end up with rare specimens that don’t fit into any of our neat little cliches at all.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
