Mind of McCabe: Dual-threat QBs need more love

Welcome back to the Mind of McCabe for another year, and we’re going to kick things off with a topic that’s fresh on my mind after watching the NFL playoffs this weekend. I’ve been a die-hard Ravens fan my whole life, so you can imagine how yesterday afternoon went as I watched their offence struggle to complete a pass for over 100 minutes in real-time, not to mention they went the entire third quarter without a first down.

Obviously there’s some blame to be laid somewhere, and a lot of people are going to put it on the arm of Lamar Jackson. It was clear from the opening snap he was overwhelmed by the big moment, which turned into a long day of football for the young man, but I feel like he was setup for failure by not only John Harbaugh and Marty Mornhinweg, who currently coach him with Baltimore, but his former coaches as well who put winning over development when Jackson needed it the most.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
