Minor – Cape Breton minor football back in 2009 after 5 year hiatus

The Cape Breton Regional Minor Football Association restructured the minor football program in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and is home to the Panthers Bantam Team. Previously The Sydney/Cape Breton Panthers Bantam team played in the Nova Scotia Minor Football League for over 20 years before disbanding after the 2003 season. They captured 10 league championships and 2 Maritime titles during their career.

The CBRMFA includes a Board Of Directors that oversees all financial, registration and program activities to ensure they meet the requirements/ guidelines of Football Nova Scotia and the Nova Scotia Minor Football League.

The Cape Breton Regional Minor Football Association’s objective is to develop and grow the sport of Canadian football in the Cape Breton Regional Municipality and surrounding communities of the CBRM while running football programs that are consistent with the principals outlined by Football Nova Scotia and the National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP).

CBRMFA games are played at Membertou First Nations Community field. The panthers Head coach is Lorne Burke along with four other assistant coaches. CBRMFA has been accepted into the Nova Scotia Minor Football League as an associate member at the bantam level for the 2009 season.
