It was a historic moment for Mississippi State OL Albert Reese IV, who became the first CFC Prospect Game on TSN alumni to sign an NFL contract with the Carolina Panthers at the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft.
Albert Reese was a high-profile recruit early on in his high school career, where his frame had both U Sports and DI scouts drooling. The Edmonton native played his first three years of high school football at perennial Alberta powerhouse Harry Ainlay, and participated at the inaugural CFC Prospect Game on TSN back in 2019.
Shortly after the 2019 season with a few offers in hand, he announced that he was moving down south to the now-defunct Clearwater Academy International in Florida for his final two years of high school football. Reese became a highly-touted prospect holding over 20 offers before committing to Mississippi State.
The lineman profiles as a swing lineman at the NFL level, where he will likely begin his career as a depth player if he makes the Panthers roster. Through a CFL lens, Reese projects as one of the rare Canadians who could potentially stay on the edge at tackle, though he could definitely be an effective player inside.
Now that he has signed with the Panthers, it’ll be interesting to see where he falls in the CFL Draft on April 28th.
Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
