Moss Heading Back To New England?

When the NFL resumes, it’s not a stretch to say that New England will be one of the top NFL betting picks at BetUs to win the Super Bowl. However, the Patriots looked to be missing something as the season went on, and many feel that was a deep threat to stretch the field. Randy Moss was that man before he was traded Minnesota because he wasn’t happy with his role in the offense, but he may be thinking that the grass isn’t always greener, because he says he wants back in the New England fold.

Moss had one of the worst seasons of his 13-year career, posting 28 catches for 393 yards and five touchdowns with New England, Minnesota and Tennessee, where he was barely a factor, but bus his most productive time was with the Patriots, where he had nine catches for 139 yards and three scores in four games. The New England is a perfect fit for Moss, who may not be a No.1 option anymore, but with his speed, you have to watch him with a safety over the top (unless you’re New York’s Darrelle Revis, but that’s a debate for another day), and that will open up the underneath passing game that the Patriots thrive on, as well as take a man out of the box who would be able to stuff New England’s running game.

Of course, some things would have to happen before this comes true. Moss would have to be welcomed back into the tight-knit New England family after he made some disparaging remarks about the play-calling, and we’re not sure the Patriots would do that. But Moss has to be humbled by his role in Tennessee, where he couldn’t even get off the bench, and he has to realize that if he wants a Super Bowl ring, his best chance is in New England. The Patriots also have to realize that they need a deep threat to take some of the pressure off Wes Welker, who can’t take on a secondary by himself. This will be an interesting story to follow once the NFL gets back in action.

Advocating for football prospects one story at a time.
