Mounties welcome CFC100, one other commit

Mount Allison brings in two hometown commits.

Being able to play in your hometown is a prideful accomplishment and offensive lineman Dylan Estabrooks and CFC100 running back Aidan O’Neal from Tantramar Regional High School, will get to know how that feels after committing to the Mount Allison University Mounties.

Dylan Estabrooks knows his hometown of Sackville, New Brunswick quite well. Now, he will have the chance to suit up with the home team where he can stay close to his family. “I chose to commit to MTA because I felt it was the best place for me to succeed both on the field and in the classroom,” the future psychology student said.

The 6’3, 310lbs athlete has suited up for the Tantramar Titans (New Brunswick High School Football League), Team New Brunswick and the 2017 edition of Team Canada. “I’ve been able to develop a relationship with members of the coaching staff as they’ve helped coach my high school and provincial team,” Estabrooks said. “Head Coach Brady is doing some amazing things with the Mounties.”

He added that, “The players he has brought in and the mentality he has towards making this team successful is very unique. The atmosphere in the locker room really drew me in. The players are so close and it definitely feels as though they are a family, I feel like I will fit in perfectly with this program.”

Estabrooks, who has been playing football since he was in grade five, was a 2016 NBHSFL all-star. He also won back-to-back provincial championships in 2015 and 2016 with the Titans.

Aidan O’Neal
Aidan O’Neal has family ties to the Mounties. His father, Scott O’Neal, played for the Mounties in his university days. While with the Titans, he helped bring his team their first provincial championship since 1997. He has also played for Team New Brunswick U18 in 2016. Also hailing from Sackville, he was named to the 2016 Football Canada Cup all-star team.
