Mounties add one local commit and one out-of-province commit to their 2019 class.
Tristan McCluskey, an offensive lineman from Tantramar High School, and Carter Bowers, a fullback from Saint James School, will be taking up the good fight with the Mount Allison Mounties.
Tristan McCluskey
Tristan McCluskey wasn’t looking to stray far from home for university. “I love the campus of MTA, one of the top undergraduate schools, and I get to stay where I grew up,” said McCluskey, who was raised in Sackville, New Brunswick.
“I really like the energy that the coaches bring with them, always upfront about everything, very energetic and well-structured,” he added.
The 6’2, 270lbs left guard has been playing football for nine years. He spent four of those with the Tantramar Titans (NBHSFL). He is a four-time NBHSFL champion and was a 2018 all-star and offensive lineman of the year.
Carter Bowers
Carter Bowers is originally from Gatineau, Québec, where he played with the Hadley Hawks in junior high school. He is currently playing with football at the Saint James School in Hagerstown, Maryland. He is 6’0, 235lbs.
Like to welcome Carter Bowers to the Mounties. Carter is a very physical and tough player. We are looking forward to seeing him on the field here in Sackville for years to come! @chatfootball @opflfootball pic.twitter.com/FujjEy4WXT
