Multi-threat athlete commits to Guelph

Guelph welcomes a versatile commit to their 2019 class.

When the 2019 season rolls around, FPC Drake Bodi from Cardinal Newman Catholic Secondary School will be heading north to his new team, the University of Guelph Gryphons.

Bodi has played for two teams in his career, the Hamilton Varsity Tiger-Cats (OPFL) and the Cardinal Newman Cardinals (HWCAA). The 6’0, 185lbs athlete has suited up as a wide receiver, slotback and free safety.

In 2017, the product of Hamilton, Ontario, played eight regular season games with the JV Varsity Tiger-Cats. He had three rushing attempts for 42 yards. In his one playoff appearance he had three attempts for 14 yards. On the receiving end, Bodi had 33 receptions for 461 yards and 4 touchdowns in eight games. He had 14 receptions for 26 yards in the playoffs. Defensively, in one game he had one tackle and one assisted tackle. As a punt returner, in seven games he had 16 returns for 148 yards. He had one attempt for 43 yards in the playoffs. He also had eight kickoff returns for 138 yards in four regular season games.
