Fifth year pivot Alexandre Nadeau-Piuze had a record setting game to open the 2012 campaign, passing for a school best 401-yards in the Carabins 38-14 win over Sherbrooke. The 23-year old law major also became the schoolβs all-time passing leader with 4486 career yards by overtaking former field general Marc-Olivier Brouillette who held the previous mark with 4400 yards.
The Collège André-Grasset graduate finished the game completing 23 of the 31 passes he attempted and a trio of touchdowns while rushing for 18 yards on six carries and one major.

6-foot, 215-pound linebacker Alex Bernard was a pillar on defense for the McGill Redmen in their 33-15 loss to the second ranked Laval Rouge et Or.
The third year Quebec City native had 9.5 total tackles in the game including seven solos as he and his teammates held the vaunted Laval attack to just 318 total yards.Β Β He made a pair of key tackles in the opening 14-minutes of the game to snuff out Laval drives allowing the Redmen to take an early 9-0 lead.

Second year kicker Boris Bede was a perfect 5-for-5 Sunday afternoon as the Rouge et Or from Laval topped the McGill Redmen 33-15 in Quebec City.
The 22-year old native of Toulon, France also averaged 65-yards on a trio of kickoffs. The business administration student also punted 11 times for a total of 397 yards (36.1 per punt).
