“They’re doing a grass roots story on football in the Maritimes to support the CFL game up in Moncton,” Wolfpack coach Travise Dowe said. “In order for them to do the story they did some research and saw that we were formed back in April and they contacted me at cumberlandminorfootball.com and set up some interviews.”

Williams will interview coaches on Monday, and then on Tuesday produce a story at the Winston field.

It’s not known exactly when the segment will run but will likely be sometime during the game between the Edmonton Eskimos and the Toronto Argonauts when they play in Moncton on Sunday, Sept. 26.

“We’re really excited about it,” Dowe said.

Kids age 7 to 15 began daily practices last week and more and more kids are coming out for practice each day at the Winston Field.

Last night there were about 35 kids at the Winston Field and Dowe said, “I’m more encouraged now that we have more people out but I’d like to have twice as many as we had tonight.”

Kids representing all four divisions, Mosquito, Atom, Peewee and Bantam, were out last night.

“To make the groups work we only need a few more kids,” Dowe said. “There’s no tryouts, everyone plays, and it’s for both boys and girls.

“We do have two girls signed up but they weren’t here tonight.”

The cost is $125 for Mosquito and Atom Divisions and $165 for Peewee and Bantam Players.

The team is also looking for new coaches, parent representatives and funding.
