NCAA: Dillon Guy starts as true freshmen for Buffalo


Quarterback BRANDON BRIDGE threw for 56 yards during Alcorn State 14-7 loss to Texas Southern, while Canadian native DILLON GUY started at left guard for the University of Buffalo during a 17-3 loss to Big East foe Connecticut, despite outgaining the Huskies by a 319-293 margin.

MATTIAS GOOSSEN started at right tackle for Simon Fraser University during a 35-7 loss to Humboldt State.

Freshman defensive end, MEHDI ABDESMAD played during the Boston College Eagles first win of the season as the Eagles defeated Massachusetts 45-17 and the defense scored two touchdowns and doubled UMass in total yardage. He was a member of the 2010 IFAF World Team and helped Canada to a silver medal at the 2009 IFAF Junior World Championship.

Richmond’s furious fourth-quarter comeback fell short in a 45-43 shootout loss to No. 11 New Hampshire, as JACOB RUBY started at right tackle for the Spiders.
