The Vernon, BC native is coming off an explosive year with local powerhouse program CFC25 Vernon Secondary, who went undefeated en route to their third AA Varsity title in the past five seasons. On top of the team hardware, Johnson also took home the AA Varsity MVP award for versatility in all three phases of the game playing offensive tackle, defensive tackle, defensive end, middle linebacker and longsnapper

The 6’5″, 255lbs offensive lineman was able to convert his dominance at Vernon into interest down south with an offer from Bryant at the end of October, and then Eastern Washington swooped in unannounced on Signing Day to steal the hidden gem.

Johnson will be following in the footsteps of fellow BC native CFC100 OL Matthew Hewa-Baddege, who will be hoping to find a new home in the CFL upon graduation this year. Thankfully he’ll still have one local teammate on campus in CFC100 WR Nolan Ulm, who signed with Eastern Washington following his appearance in the 2019 CFC Prospect Game on TSN, and is entering his senior campaign with the Eagles.
